Creation of a Musical

I've always wondered what it takes to write a musical. Where do the ideas come from? How does a person know if they've got a hit on their hands or a total flop? What makes a musical a hit? Do I work with anyone who has hidden aspirations for writing a musical?

I've enlisted the help of my two favorite (and indisputably most creative) co-workers to write our musical, "Beard Dandruff - The Musical".
